Mandarin sells worldwide to schools

Libraries Turn To Mandarin M3 For Automation Needs

Mandarin M3ıs presence in the U.S. school market continues to expand as libraries discover M3ıs assortment of practical features, including networkable software with unlimited site licensing, union catalogs and hosting services. New school library customers include Lexington Public Schools in Lexington, MA; elementary, middle and high schools in many New York State BOCES including Nassau BOCES and Steuben-Allegany BOCES school systems; Barlow Elementary School in Plainfield, NJ; Rensselaer Central Middle School in Rensselaer, IN; Eaton High School in Eaton, CO; and Hockinson Heights School in Brush Praire, WA.

Mandarin M3ıs multilingual OPAC in English, Spanish, French, German and Italian continue to attract academic libraries from around the globe. For example, the College of Puerto Rico, American University of Puerto Rico and four campuses of Caribbean University will automate their collections with Mandarin M3. Additionally, 120 school and public libraries in Puerto Rico have purchased the M3 Core Package and Web Gateway OPACs through Project SABER (Electronic Libraries Network Automation Systems), Puerto Ricoıs centralized library automation network.  Developed by the Department of Education of Puerto Rico, Project SABER is part of the Departmentıs efforts to revolutionize the educational process in Puerto Rico by providing all public schools and libraries on the island with access to a centralized library automation system, new audiovisual and technology equipment and SIRS electronic databases.

Other international educational institutions have added Mandarin M3 for their library automation needs.  Twenty-seven libraries in the Regina Catholic School District in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada now enjoy access to a live, district-wide union catalog of library resources from a central M3 server.  Other institutions that have recently purchased Mandarin M3 include: West Nipissing Public Library in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada; St. Maryıs Public Library in St. Maryıs, Ontario, Canada; Pettes Memorial Library in Knowlton, Quebec, Canada; American School Foundation and ASF Elementary and Middle Schools in Mexico City, Mexico; American School of Tampico in Tampico Tamaulis, Mexico; Los Nogales School in Bogota, Columbia; Dresden International School in Dresden, Germany; International School in Berlin and Schadow-Oberschule in Berlin, topGermany; Franklin College in Sorengo, Switzerland; Aiglon College in Aiglon, Switzerland; Anglo American School of Moscow in Russia; Oslo International School in Bekkestua, Norway; and International School of Gothenburg in Gothenburg, Sweden.

New Enhancements And Reports Added To Mandarin M3

Boca Raton, FL, February 20, 2001 - Educational publisher and software developer SIRS Mandarin, Inc. continues to enhance its popular Mandarin M3(tm) Library Automation System with a variety of new features, updates and reports designed to provide users with optimal flexibility and ease-of-use.   A new Session Save feature that allows librarians to save an inventory session for future retrieval is now available in the M3 Inventory module.  M3 Inventory also empowers librarians with new reporting capabilities, including a statistical list and an option that enables users to track items that are shelved without being returned.  An enhanced Barcode Label Printing Utility and improved printing capabilities have also been added to Mandarin M3.   Mandarin M3 has added new reports that perform tasks like sorting equipment items by building location and listing items scanned in circulation on a selected day by call number. With these and other new reports, M3 users can now access over one hundred preloaded reports.  SIRS Mandarin technicians continually design new reports and adapt existing ones to fit the needs of M3 users.  All new reports are placed on the SIRS Mandarin Web site at www.sirs.com and can be downloaded by Mandarin customers.   Mandarin M3 is a flexible and powerful library automation system suitable for school, academic, public and special libraries.  M3 incorporates a search engine specifically designed to search MARC records and offers a variety of exceptional features:
