Talis has been chosen by the University of Central Lancashire as their new library management system and installation will be completed by the beginning of September in preparation for the new academic year.
The contract includes conversion of some 220,000 works from both the previous systems in use at the University, Dynix and Genesis,
together with the notable Joseph Livesey collection. The conversion will be achieved using the BLCMP Database of 15 million bibliographic records.
The University of Central Lancashire decided in favour of Talis for its range of features, including the availability of the BLCMP Database, full integration of functionality, EDI capabilities and the ability to mount the catalogue on the World Wide Web using TalisWeb.
Maxine Melling, Head of Information Services, commented: "We are very pleased to have chosen Talis and look forward to a successful implementation followed by enhanced services to our users."
This takes the total number of BLCMP customers to over 80. Of these, six announced their choice of Talis in the last two months, including two other libraries in the Lancashire/Manchester area; Trafford Leisure Services and University College St. Martin, Lancaster.
