AMICO VTLS Inc. is partnering with the Art Museum Image Consortium (AMICO) to develop software tools and product offerings that will make the image database available to libraries and educational institutions. Digital Library Project - Library of Virginia VTLS Inc. recently completed a project (funded by the Mellon Foundation) called the Virginia Historical Index (VHI). VTLS provided extensive consulting, design and technical support for all aspects of the project, and was instrumental in designing and implementing the complex interactive interface for all of the project components Gemplus VTLS Inc. has partnered with Gemplus to provide a complete solution for library material management using RFID technology. VTLS has built a solution that includes self-checkout stations, auto check-in book return bins, security gates and an inventory control system all based on RFID technology from Gemplus. The system is designed for use with any integrated library system that follows standard circulation protocols. NDLTD (at Virginia Tech) VTLS Inc. has partnered with NDLTD (Networked Digital Library for Theses and Dissertations) at Virginia Tech to provide a Unicode based multilingual Union Catalog of Electronic Thesis and Dissertations (ETDs). The database will be housed at the Blacksburg offices of VTLS Inc. OCLC VTLS is working co-operatively with OCLC on developments dealing with the design and implementation of the Extended WorldCat. Issues being addressed are software scaling to handle hundreds of millions of bibliographic records and performance evaluations of relational database models. RLG for ILL manager. VTLS Inc. is integrating a standards based ILL system from RLG into its Virtua offerings. Syndetic Solutions VTLS is partnering with Syndetic Solutions to provide a painless enhancement to the online catalogs. Images of Book covers, Table of Contents, Author Information, Book reviews and annotations can all be available to library users through the online catalog with no additional work for the library staff. |
