Press release:Carlsbad, CA - June 10, 2001 EOS International, a California-based library automation company with offices and service centers located throughout the globe, is pleased to announce that CEO Scot Cheatham has successfully acquired ownership of the company from Dawson Holdings PLC. In an effort to redirect their focus solely on European operations, Dawson Holdings, a United Kingdom corporation, agreed to sell all of its interest in EOS International to original founder Scot Cheatham. "This transaction is a major step enabling EOS to focus exclusively on delivering library automation and information management solutions to clients globally," said Scot Cheatham. Furthermore, industry veteran Tony Saadat has acquired an equity interest in EOS International to solidify the company's long term commitment to clients. "We place high value on teamwork and results at EOS International and Tony's past experience demonstrates both in full measure. Tony's unique combination of executive level experience with enterprise information technology and the library automation software industry is a real asset to the company," said CEO Scot Cheatham. "I am pleased to endorse this partnership. Moving forward, Tony's primary focus will be directed at business operations and solid execution of our major corporate initiatives. We are confident that Tony will play an integral role in our expanded efforts to further EOS International's position as a global library automation leader." Tony Saadat brings over 15 years of library industry experience to EOS International, having previously held executive level positions at SydneyPlus International. "I am honored to join this dynamic organization and look forward to helping further the company's leading reputation in the library industry," said Tony Saadat. "An enthusiastic EOS International staff welcomed the announcement with applause elated over the benefits that private ownership brings to our team philosophy. This strategic move allows us to focus on our primary commitment to delivering innovative solutions and exceptional customer services that enhance the economic value of our clients' information assets," said EOS International CEO Scot Cheatham. In anticipation of the acquisition, EOS initiated strategic meetings to plan a corporate-wide restructure and reallocation of resources aimed at improving client services and product quality. The first stage enabled the firm to maximize funding to Research & Development. Increased staffing of the R & D Department will accelerate delivery of product enhancements to clients and will allow the EOS development staff to integrate emerging technologies into the current software products. |

New Application Service Provider Press release: Carlsbad, CA - June 10, 2001 EOS International is pleased to announce the launch of e-Library Service®, a comprehensive hosting service that delivers library automation software and system administration services to libraries over the Internet as a single, easy-to-use library automation solution. e-Library Service offers an innovative, cost-effective alternative to the conventional in-house library automation systems installed and managed by many libraries. Rather than installing software on an in-house server supported by library staff, the software is hosted at a central data facility supported directly by the same skilled technology and systems staffs that develop it. The library staff and patrons access the software via a web browser over a secured Internet connection and experience the same functionality and appearance as if it were hosted on a local library server. This solution eliminates the initial capital expenditure and annual maintenance costs associated with purchasing software and servers, and provides libraries with the latest hardware and software technologies supported directly by the most expert technical staffs available. Software updates are installed immediately upon release by the very staffs that develop it. By alleviating the burden of maintaining the software and hardware issues by busy library IT staff, libraries realize reduced overhead and optimized time management allowing them to focus on customer service rather than technology issues. "EOS International is committed to providing intelligent, innovative solutions to enhance the economic value of our clients' libraries to their organizations and to providing easy access to technology that makes their jobs easier," said EOS International CEO Scot Cheatham. "e-Library Service is the logical evolution to efficient automation of library services with the Q Series and GLAS® library information management systems". |
