Pigasus is to offer a simplified version of its peer to peer WINGS ILL software to try try and prime the use of ISO ILL protocols. Also announced - a bundling of Sea change’s Web Clarity. This will allow users to search via Z39.50 and place requests directly with the requesting library. Details

LASER - UK ILL bureau to close

LASER - the London and South Eastern Regional Bureau - will close in September 2001. The organisation has been pioneering ILL services for 70 years and just a year ago launched its Viscount 3 service.  Details.

Esprit drop Aurora

Esprit have decided not to continue with the UK distributorship of the Aurora product. Bournemouth University who decided to trial the system have pulled out - precipitating the decision. Details

Surpass offer free trial for UK

As part of its launch in to the UK, Surpass is being offered as a free trial. Uses can use the software for one year before any payment - Details.


Geac latest

Amid rumours that the library divisions has been sold, Geac has paid off another $11 million toward its loan and the deadline for discussions with its banking syndicate has been  extended until April 4th. Latest results show an improvement and the share price has rallied. Details
