Best-Seller growth - sites and key staff

October 2000

Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada, Regional Library of Brant County, Ron Rathwell joins.

Press release: October 3rd, 2000:

Best-Seller Inc’s eLibrary Network continues its expansion.

The Federal Government of Canada’s Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB) has selected Best-Seller’s eLibrary Network.  Located in Ottawa, Ontario, the IRB is responsible for issuing refugee status to individuals and shall implement Best-Seller’s web-based PortFolio software within the next few months.  Todd Joron, President and CEO of Best-Seller noted that more and more special libraries are selecting PortFolio.  In addition to the IRB, PortFolio is particularly popular among government libraries such as the National Defence, the Supreme Court of Canada and Statistics Canada because of its scalability, functionality and web-based design.

Best-Seller Inc is also pleased to announce that the regional library of Brant County, Ontario has chosen Best-Seller’s eLibrary Network.  Serving over 30,000 people per day, Brant County shall network together its 5 branch libraries and depend on Best-Seller’s web-based PortFolio software to manage their collections and provide access to these collections via the Internet. Werner Mueller, Chief Librarian of Brant County commented that Best-Seller’s Web-based PortFolio product was selected due to its “enhanced integration of the system modules and the exceptional ease of use of its web-OPAC and Catalog modules.”

The demand for Web-based systems continues to explode. Both scalable and platform-independent, PortFolio is Best-Seller's web-designed product line and includes all the modules required for a library to manage its local collections in addition to participate in the world-wide community of automated libraries. With PortFolio, patrons, whether in the library, at their offices, or in their own homes can search for multimedia materials at the Library or consult the collections of other libraries across the province or around the world.
