 UK’s leading show
Review

LIS 2000 is the largest of the Library technology shows in the UK. This year despite disappointing attendance figures, the event had some interesting exhibits including one of the most exciting advances in patron identification technology yet seen. Review.  Can you spot the technology - being used here at a UK school?

DS - new contract and mobile award

DS the major UK public library supplier have retained the contract for one of UK’s largest counties, have won an award for their latest mobile library - and have a new logo. details

Voyager 2000 released

The latest release of Endeavor’s Voyager system is in Beta test - most of the major new features are in acquisitions. new features described.

TALIS unbundles its database

Talis has taken the brave step of lifting the member’s only restriction from its database. A rich collection of material built up over 25 years - much of which is not found elsewhere - this will be interesting to many libraries both in UK and elsewhere.  Details

Searching revived at BTR - at last, a new search engine on BTR to give easy retrieval on all the current issues in library technology.  Upcoming new features include enhanced directory searching.

Separate serials client applications - dedicated to just one task have been around for some time. Serials is different enough to warrant special treatment. This is a new system from Sagebrush Technologies.

DDE return to UK
